"Implementing high-content screens using models generated with patients-derived cells"

Prof. Gerardo Turcatti

Director of Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland

15 Julio 2022 13:00–14:00

Theatre Room, CiMUS

About:

In modern drug screening, the proportion of informative image-based assays is constantly increasing, particularly using physiological-relevant models generated from patients? cells. The implementation of these complex assays in academic screening settings generates a series of key challenges to be addressed. Screens using 3D models performed in our academic platform, strategies and approaches will be discussed.

Bio:

Professor Turcatti directs the EPFL screening platform he created in 2006. In the framework of a national project (NCCR-Chem Biol), he is leading the program ACCESS (a chemical screening platform for Switzerland). His research focuses on innovative HTS methods and technologies. In particular, he targets the development of image-based strategies using physiological-relevant screening assays aiming to improve the early drug discovery process.
