III Annual CiMUS Workshop - Virtual Edition

On July 20th and 27th, the CiMUS will host the third edition of its Annual Workshop, exclusively addressed to the in-house scientific staff.

The workshop has been conceived with the principal idea of promoting interaction and collaboration among the researchers of CiMUS, enhancing interdisciplinary research in the field of biomedical sciences and related areas.

All researchers working in CiMUS are welcome to present their projects during the event, either as oral communications or posters. However, this year has been designed as a virtual two-day event to share and disseminate the scientific work carried out in our Centre:

  • July 20thoral sessions (morning)
  • July 20th to July 27th: poster exhibition in the hall (poster evaluation from 20th to 24th)
  • July 27thkeynote speaker session + award ceremony (morning or afternoon -pending confirmation)

The workshop has been specifically envisioned to allow master students, PhD students and early-stage postdoctoral scientists the opportunity to showcase their work. The event will also feature a keynote lecture:

Ana Fernández-Sesma, PhD: Professor of Microbiology and Group Leader at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York. Her laboratory studies the innate immunity evasion by human viruses in primary systems.

All participants should register here and submit their abstracts online before the following deadlines:

  • Deadline for abstract submission: June 29th,2020. Extended 3rd July
  • Deadline for registrationJuly 13th, 2020.
  • Virtual CiMUS Workshop: July 20th- 27th, 2020.

Please use this official abstract template. Any other format will be rejected. Please read carefully the instructions to fill in the template, check carefully for spelling mistakes and make sure that no confidential information is disclosed before submitting. Last-minute abstract replacements will not be allowed.

Those researchers not registered and interested in attending this virtual CiMUS Workshop must send an email to cimus.workshop [at] usc.es indicating as subject "Virtual CiMUS Workshop". This email should be sent in advance, at least 24 hours before the time at which the seminar/s will start on July 20th or 27th. The following information should be included in that email:

1. Name and surname

2. Email address (the one you want to use to follow it)

3. Country

People who request to virtually attend will receive, in the provided email address, an email with a personal invitation to join the group in the Microsoft TEAMS session created for the workshop. Some attendance applications may not be accepted due to capacity limit.
