Theatre room, CiMUS
About
A presentation on recent efforts, in a true translational mode, towards defining the etiology and pathophysiology of fatty liver disease, helping reposition and rename it as metabolism associated steatotic liver disease and developing novel diagnostics and therapeutics for this unmet clinical need that affects 1/3 of the population in developing nations.
Bio
Prof. Christos Mantzoros is Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of Metabolism, one of the leading international journals in the field (Metabolism Clinical and Experimental, IF: 11.9).
His impact on the fields of metabolism, endocrinology, and obesity has been extraordinary. He authored 1,200 papers that have received 180,000 citations with H-index 165, Prof. Mantzoros ranks among the most influential physician-scientists in the biomedical sciences. Beyond these impressive metrics, his body of work includes numerous seminal publications and groundbreaking discoveries that have fundamentally advanced our understanding of metabolic diseases.
