About
Metabolic programs and immune cell functions are intrinsically linked. Metabolic reprograming is required for immune cell differentiation, function and fate, as a result controlling immune responses during infection, inflammatory diseases and cancer. In this talk, I will discuss recently identified molecular mechanisms controlling and connecting innate immunity and cellular metabolism and their role in regulating the outcome of immunity.
Bio
Prof Patricia Barral obtained her PhD from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). She is currently a Professor of Immunobiology at King’s College London and group leader at the Francis Crick Institute (London, UK). Her group’s interest is to understand the cellular mechanisms that initiate and shape immune responses, with a particular emphasis on studying the biology and function of unconventional T cells in health and disease.
