Roundtable: World DNA Day

CiMUS Celebrates DNA Day with an Inaugural Lecture by Dr Ángel Carracedo and a Round Table with Leading Researchers.

On the occasion of DNA Day (25 April), the Singular Centre for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CiMUS) at the University of Santiago de Compostela is organising a special event dedicated to scientific outreach and advances in genomics.

The event will take place on 25 April at the CiMUS auditorium, starting at 11:00 am with an inaugural lecture by Prof Ángel M. Carracedo, one of the most internationally recognised geneticists. His talk, titled "From the Human Genome Project to the Galicia Genome Project," will cover the journey from the first global genetic maps to current initiatives to study the genome of the Galician population, with direct implications for health and personalised medicine.

Following the lecture, a round table will be held featuring Dr Carracedo himself, and CiMUS researchers Dr José M. Tubío and Dr Miguel G. Blanco. The meeting will be moderated by fellow researcher Dr Ricardo Villa-Bellosta, who is also coordinating the event.
