About:
The main objective of gender medicine is to analyze how biological factors (determinants of sex) and social factors (determinants of gender) influence people's health, which makes it necessary to introduce a gender perspective in the prevention, management and treatment of any disease.
Bio:
Víctor Arce Vázquez is a Professor in the Department of Physiology at the University of Santiago de Compostela. He is the author of more than 50 scientific publications and has contributed to 25 book chapters. He has been invited as a speaker at 13 national and 5 international conferences. Additionally, as director of doctoral students, he has supervised 10 doctoral theses.
