Unleashing the power of personalized nanomedicine: intracellular delivery of anti-KRASG12V mAb to combat lung cancer

Monoclonal antibodies have revolutionized cancer treatment, but their effectiveness against intracellular targets, such as the RAS family in 9-30% of human cancers, is limited. In this context, nanotechnology offers a promising solution to enhance the intracellular delivery of mAbs, particularly for aggressive cancers like lung and pancreas.

CV highlights:

Ana M. López Estévez is a postdoctoral researcher at María J. Alonso’s lab. In the same lab, she conducted her thesis focused on designing novel nanotechnologies for the intracellular delivery of clinically relevant monoclonal antibodies for cancer therapy. She also contributed to the radiolabelling of nanomedicines with positron Emission Tomography (PET) tracers at King's College of London.

Unravelling the role of extracellular vesicles derived from senescent tumor cells

Cellular senescence, a stable cell cycle arrest triggered by multiple stimuli, has emerged as a relevant effect of chemotherapy treatment. Senescent cells secrete many soluble proteins and extracellular vesicles (EVs) with multiple and contradictory functions. In this project, we study the relative contribution of the SASP components in the induction of paracrine senescence in cancer cells.

Biologist graduated in 2018. PhD student in Molecular Medicine at Cellular Senescence, Cancer, and Aging (ColladoLab) at the Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela (IDIS). My research is focused on the effects of the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) and the paracrine signalling, after chemotherapeutic treatment in lung cancer.
