Diana Guallar

Diana holds a PhD in Cellular Biology by the University of Zaragoza. Her thesis was focused on the study of epigenetic regulation of endogenous retroviruses in embryonic stem cells. In 2013 she moved to Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (NY, USA) where she continued exploring pluripotency from a proteomic perspective and became interested in studying the interplay of epigenetic regulators with RNA. In 2017 she returned to Spain where she has been exploring several aspects of cellular ageing and rejuvenation using the model of Yamanaka´s somatic cell reprogramming, funded with competitive fellowships including the “International Postdoctoral Program 2016” and Marie Slodovska Curie postdoctoral fellowships. Recently, she has been awarded a Ramón y Cajal 2019 Award which has allowed her to be appointed as principal investigator at CiMUS, where her laboratory is focused on the epigenetic (i.e. chromatin/DNA) and epitranscriptomic (i.e. RNA) crosstalk in pluripotent stem cells, ageing and age-related disorders.
