Postdoctoral Research position

HypoPause aims to study the molecular and cell-specific changes occurring in the hypothalamus during menopause and to understand their role in the pathophysiological mechanisms driving the metabolic alterations associated to this women’s period of life. In this context, we are looking for a motivated and committed postdoctoral researcher to join an ERC Starting Grant project at the Center for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CiMUS), University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain (https://cimus.usc.gal/).

Key Responsibilities:
• Genetic mouse lines generation and maintenance.
• Mouse colony handling and in vivo animal experimentation.
• To lead the transcriptomic studies (snRNA seq & bulk) and bioinformatic/molecular analyses of the project.
• To contribute to high-impact publications and to present results at conferences.

Candidate Requirements:
• PhD in endocrinology, neuroscience, metabolism or related fields.
• Previous experience working in a neuroscience/neuroendocrine lab.
• Hands-on skills in single nuclei RNA seq, FACS, molecular analyses and in vivo animal experimentation (bioinformatic and programming knowledge will be valued).
• English proficiency.
• Strong problem-solving skills and capability to lead challenging research questions.
