Public call for tenders CiMUS 05/2026 for the recruitment of Predoctoral Researchers in the framework of CiMUS "María de Maeztu" Training Action

The Singular Centre for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CiMUS) is one of Spain’s leading research institutions, recognized as a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence by the Spanish Research State Agency.

CiMUS is now offering six (6) fellowships funded by the Spanish Research State Agency through the María de Maeztu call CEX2024-001463-M. This doctoral training programme is structured, interdisciplinary, and quality driven, designed to prepare CiMUS predoctoral researchers to become creative, critical and responsible scientists capable of leading frontier research, in alignment with the European Commission’s Principles for Innovative Doctoral Training.

PhD contracts comply with the Spanish regulations for predoctoral contracts with full Social Security coverage. (artículo 21 de la Ley 14/2011, de 1 de junio, y el Real Decreto 103/2019, de 1 de marzo).

ATTENTION: It is mandatory that every application include at least the following documents to be admitted to the process.

  1. Copy of a valid identity document (NIF, passport or identity card from European Union countries).
  2. Abbreviated curriculum vitae, in PDF format. According to the model of the Spanish Research Agency (AEI) available: https://www.aei.gob.es/sites/default/files/convocatory_info/2025-07/CVA%20English.docx
    Only the information contained therein will be taken into account on the closing date of the application submission period for evaluation purposes. It will not be possible to update the information contained at a later date. The commission may request evidence of any alleged merit.
  3. Selected candidates in possession of a foreign degree issued by a country that does not belong to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), must submit, at the time of signing the contract, the application to obtain the declaration of equivalence to the degree and academic level required in this call, or the recognition in the case of degrees that qualify for a regulated profession, in accordance with Royal Decree 967/2014, of 21 November.
  4. A detailed statement of the employment contracts signed by the applicant according to the format proposed in Annex II in the case of foreign applicants or a report of working life provided by the Treasurer of the Social Security in the case of nationals. Application or Template Annex II
  5. For students from outside the University of Santiago de Compostela, a copy of the academic certificate stating the grades of the studies. How to declare equivalence of average grade.
  6. Letter of motivation.
  7. Two letters of recommendation, in PDF format, duly signed by lecturers or researchers who are familiar with the candidate's academic trajectory and can provide a well-founded assessment of their scientific potential, motivation and suitability for the development of the project. The selection committee may verify the content of these references.
  8. A prioritized list of the six (6) projects selected according to the form proposed in Annex III. Template Annex III
