Excellence in training at CiMUS: Summer Fellowships 2026
- CiMUS offers 10 summer feloowships during July to undergraduate interested in gaining hands-on experience in research.
The 9th edition of the «CiMUS Summer School» Programme is now open. CiMUS offers 10 paid summer fellowhips in its laboratories for undergraduate students who wish to take their first steps in research in the field of Life Sciences.
This initiative provides an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and competitive research environment and to work on topics at the forefront of scientific knowledge.
Each scholarship is remunerated with €750 (gross) and includes an additional allowance for students who do not reside in Santiago de Compostela, intended to help cover accomodation costs during their research stay at CiMUS in July.
Application process
Interested candidates must submit the required documentation through the Electronic Registry of the University of Santiago de Compostela, using the application form available at the following link: https://sede.usc.es/formularios/solicitudes/InvestigacionBolsasVeranCIMUS26.htm
Applications must be addressed to the R&D Calls and Human Resources Service and submitted by April 29, 2026, at 11:59 PM (CEST).

Development of a research project
To be eligible, applicants must have completed at least 55% of the credits of an undergraduate degree in Biology, Pharmacy, Medicine, Chemistry, or another related field, at any university, and hold a minimum grade point average of 8 out of 10.
During their stay, selected students will develop a short research project under the supervision of a CiMUS principal investigator, within one of the center’s two research programs: "Molecular Mechanisms”, focused on chronic diseases with a high societal impact, including obesity and metabolism, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegeneration, and cancer and the "Integrative Translational Research", focused on the development of new drugs and therapeutic strategies, including drug screening, nanodelivery, genomic medicine, and protontherapy/theragnostics.
