The External Scientific Committee is an advisory body composed of a minimum of seven members with recognised international scientific prestige in the field of CiMUS. Members are appointed by the Rector at the proposal of the Steering Committee, with each appointment lasting four years and being renewable. The Committee's functions include advising the Scientific Directorate and the Steering Committee on the thematic focus and direction of research, as well as other relevant matters; assisting in monitoring the progress of research and the transfer of its results; reporting on the affiliation of new research staff and evaluating submitted applications; and periodically assessing the scientific activity of the centre and its researchers.
