Ricardo Villa Bellosta
Ricardo holds a PhD by the University of Zaragoza. His doctoral thesis got the Spanish Royal Academy of Doctors Award and Extraordinary doctoral Award. Ricardo has worked as researcher in different laboratories including, Zaragoza University (Zaragoza, Spain), Emory University (Atlanta, USA), Spanish Center for Cardiovascular Research (Madrid, Spain), Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital Health Research Institute (Madrid, Spain) and Bern University (Bern, Switzerland). His work has received funding from Progeria Research Foundation (USA), Spanish Ministry of Science and Government of Madrid Community. Ricardo has also obtained several research contracts including “Beca de Colaboración” from MINECO, a Predoctoral fellowships from the Government of Aragon, “Juan de la Cierva” Postdoctoral contract and “I+D+I jóvenes Investigadores sin vinculación” Postdoctoral contract from MINECO. In 2021 Dr. Ricardo Villa-Bellosta joined as principal investigator at CiMUS. His laboratory is focused on the role of phosphate and pyrophosphate homeostasis in vascular calcification in progeria, aging and age-related disorders.
