  • Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Santiago de Compostela since April 2011. Coordinator of BioFarma Research Group.
  • More than 50 postgraduate research projects supervised.
  • More than 124 scientific publications in JCR journals.
  • 14 PhD theses supervised, all of which earned the top level of distinction awarded by the university.
  • Taken part  in more than 90 research projects (in 70 of these as Principal Investigator) financed by public and private institutions such as the  Xunta de Galicia, Fundación La Marató (TV3), the Spanish Government and the European Union (in total, 9 EU funding programmes: TESEMED I and II, INFOPHARMA, GALA, LINK3D, DIOMED   of the Sudoe Interreg programme, and EU-ADR, CHAPRION  and Open PHACTS of the VII Framework programme, which has been selected, as one of the most successful IMI projects, for continuation with ENSO funding). 
  • Involved in projects in intensive collaboration with Pharmaceutical and Biotechnological companies.
  • Participates regularly at national and international conferences, such as the Spanish meetings on Pharmacology, Chemical Therapeutics and Neurosciences, at which has presented more than 160 communications    
  • Awards: Selected by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations as one of the 30 scientists from 30 countries in Europe within the “Portraits of Science-Scientists of Tomorrow” initiative. Included within the international LOréal-Unesco “For Women in Science” program, in the book entitled “Nosotras biocientíficas españolas” a compendium of women researchers in the Life Sciences in Spain.
  • Assessing officer for different National and International Agencies (Spanish Ministries, Welcome Trust Foundation, Swiss National Science Foundation, United States-Israel Binational Science Foundation)
  • Reviewer of  EMBO Reports, Biochemical Pharmacology, Journal Medicinal Chemistry, Phsiquiatry Research, Life Science
