Woman in Science
In the context of the celebration of International Women's Day on 8 March and the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11 February, CiMUS is organising a series of talks and workshops on the empowerment of women scientists (Women in Science, Control release Society). The organisation of round tables and debates on gender equality, achievements and obstacles in women's scientific careers, aimed at different audiences (researchers from the centre and students from secondary schools and colleges). These activities are complemented with other informative proposals such as workshops for children and school visits to promote scientific vocations or the participation of women scientists from the centre in the "CONÓCELAS" initiative, launched by ASEICA to raise the profile of women scientists working in cancer research.
Conference programmes
CiMUS has different lecture programmes open to all staff of the centre, and even from other research centres. These lectures are held in person and in a hybrid format (in person/video conference) to encourage the participation of as many researchers as possible. These programmes range from Frontiers in Science, where internationally renowned researchers visit us to give a conference, through the CiMUS Seminar, where external researchers are invited by our PIs to present their work, the CiMUS Update where new PIs joining the centre present their lines of research or the Happy Fridays, where our final year predocs or recent postdocs present their work in the laboratory in a relaxed way.
Another initiative is the Discussion with Referents, a series of talks in a round table format, in which prestigious invited scientists to participate together with senior researchers and professors, where junior scientists can also participate.
